Welcome

The  Society for Post-Critical and Personalist Studies (SPCPS) was formed in 2004, and took over the publication of Appraisal (first published in 1996).

The Society aims to promote interest in, and further application of, the personalist way of thinking in philosophy and other disciplines. It takes a special, but not exclusive, interest in the work of Michael Polanyi.

It publishes a journal, Appraisal, and organises conferences. All individual members receive the Society's journal Appraisal and likewise all individual subscribers to Appraisal will become members of the SPCPS.

 Michael Polanyi, FRS
